MLK Parents,
Please be advised that the shelter-in-place at MLK College Prep has been lifted. Memphis Police Department found no security threat after reviewing the building. Students are now being released for dismissal. We have additional security on campus as an extra layer of support.
Earlier today, MPD received a tip that an individual was possibly on the way to the school with a weapon. As a precautionary measure we required all students and staff to shelter-in-place, as MPD checked the buildings.
To reiterate, the shelter-in-place has been lifted. Thank you for your patience as we worked through this issue to ensure the safety of our students.
