- Rigorous academics and extensive, differentiated support
- Academies with unique programming and designated leadership
- Extended instructional and professional development time
- Disciplined culture of achievement, character, and respect
- College and career focus and preparation
- Community and service learning
- Parent and community partnerships
College and Career Readiness
Ultimately, MLK College Preparatory High School’s vision is to provide a transformative education to the students of Frayser, providing them with the skills and knowledge required to break the cycle of poverty and crime in the community and set them on a path to college. We seek to close the Achievement gap, ensure students reach proficiency, and provide parents with meaningful opportunities to participate in their children’s education.
MLK College Preparatory High School will create a high-achieving, college-focused culture in which students will embrace the idea of higher education, grasp the value of positive community interactions, and internalize the habits of scholarship. Our success will result in a powerful positive impact on the community as our graduates, imbued with a sense of service and possessing strong skills, return to Frayser as doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and non-profit leaders who will continue to invest in the community, its school, and its people.
