FCS Kickstarts the 2022/2023 School Year

Class is back in session!

Frayser Community Schools kickstarted their 2022/2023 school year with a bang. This year, the students and staff were in for a treat with new programs, spirit chants, and new lunch options from our new food vendor, FeedWells.

Let’s recap a few moments from the week!

Memphis Shelby County Schools Visits Westside Middle School

On the first day of school at Westside, FCS welcomed the MSCS Deputy Superintendents Dr. Angela Whitelaw and Dr. John Barker, along with MSCS Board member Michelle McKissack and other members from MSCS. The visit included a brief sneak peek into our classrooms, where MSCS met several teachers, staff, and students.

FCS Welcomes New Food Service Vendor

Lunch is served!

Another highlight this year is our partnership with a new food service vendor, FeedWells. This partnership will help provide each school with better quality and nutritious meals for our students, faculty, and staff. In doing so, the schools will have with a chef who will provide gourmet home-cooked breakfast and lunch meals daily. This is something FCS is looking forward to and hopes it will have a significant impact on encouraging student wellness.

MLK College Prep Offers New CTE Courses

Along with those partnerships and school visits, MLK College Prep is offering new Career and Technical Education courses for high school students. These courses will help our students gain valuable skill sets to operate in the workforce after graduation. Some courses include Audio and Visual, Welding, and Culinary Arts.
